Jainism is perhaps only religion that puts emphasis on human health by suggesting food and food habits. For example avoiding food after sunset (રાત્રી ભોજન ત્યાગ) one can easily stay away from acidity, indigestion, insomnia etc. similarly green leafy vegetables(લીલોતરી) are not taken on certain days of the month. Roots and bulbs (કંદમૂળ) like potatoes, onion, and garlic are never taken. some foods are contradictory in nature such as curd and pulse, these foods are not taken together.
